Our Story
Founded in 2022, Aness is a design practice rooted in curiosity, research, and close observation. It began as a way to explore space from the nearest distance—through everyday experience, attention, and the discipline of looking longer.
Initiated by Adhitanto Nabil, an architect and interior designer with a background in visual work and filmmaking, Aness operates across architecture, interiors, and spatial studies. The practice is shaped by an interest in how people occupy space and how environments quietly influence emotion and behavior.
Aness focuses on essential qualities: how form, material, light, and narrative shape lived experience. The work leans toward architecture that feels calm yet intentional—where simplicity carries depth, structure feels honest, nature is invited with restraint, and light is treated as a material.
The practice values clarity without rigidity, playfulness without excess, and spatial storytelling grounded in human experience rather than visual noise. Today, Aness continues as a research-driven studio, documenting observations and taking on selected commissions aligned with its design values.
